FOR MODDERS USING CRY OF FEAR. READ THIS!

Custom campaign/mappacks integration to the Cry of Fear main menu (available for everyone who plays Cry of Fear)


We are NOT allowing anyone to use content from Cry of Fear in their own mods. We only allow people to use the CoF content to Cry of Fear itself, to for example mappacks and such. Hence why we haven't released the source code.

Also if you want your maps and stuff to be integrated into Cry of Fear (so everyone who is playing Cry of Fear can play it from the main menu), you must NOT edit any Cry of Fear files, only add new files. For example if you want to edit a monster, copy the monster and edit the copied monster, not the original monster.

When you are done with your campaign or mappack, PM ruMpel or James here on the forums so we can discuss about your stuff. If you have edited any Cry of Fear files, we will not approve your mod and not integrated it into Cry of Fear. However if everything is fine and we do integrate your campaign, you will of course have your name or team name next to your custom campaign.

We will help you as much as we can to get your mappack/campaign into the mod. We do support you!

But keep in mind that this is not anything you can use to your own mods, still, only for Cry of Fear.

One question i have  :yow:
cause i didnt understand one thing.
So can we edit some of the Original Cry of Fear Files (Example the Weapon models) , and use them for our integrated custom campaign ?
Or will that cause , that our COF mod will be not approved???  ???

I think you can just make a new weapon instead of re-skinning the original ones.

Of Course i can , i have some little knowledge about creating models with Milkshape 3D .
I also will create new skins for my Cry of Fear Campaign , and not try using any original COF content .
But i just only wanted to know this , so yeah ? :P

hmm by edit? I understand but cant we just send you guys the map files and models ect?

I would assume this just concerns single player mappacks right? Seeing as maps designed for co-op can just be loaded from the new co-op server menu, not entirely sure though.

Depends what are you doing the monster for. Keep in mind that it's better to ask developers first!
