The Hole

Description

Simon gets lost in the subway tunnels and decides he's going to take a detour.

This sort of takes the form of a "lost chapter" for the original Cry of Fear with three alternate endings to the story. It is short with only five main maps, and it should take an hour or less to complete the first time. There is some custom content with this mappack, but nothing too drastic because I wanted it to fit in with the original story.

If you feel like you're running out of supplies, take some time to look around. There is a lot of hidden stuff. Also, not all enemies have to be killed. Many can and should be avoided!

At this time I just know the basics of mapping with the SDK. I have no idea if or how it will be integrated into the system and what will or won't work with it.  ???

Also, when you're going through a mine (like where gems are mined) do you think it would be cool to have places where there is a very faint colored glow in the rock? Or would it just be better if it was completely dark? In both cases the player will need to use a light source to navigate.

I would make the caves really dark overall but in one or two places there would be like a "break area" with a tape recorded and maybe a clip of ammo. Those areas would have the glowing rocks to make it look all cozy and nice.

They are bloody, it's just the lighting that makes it look like it's clean.

I've just about finished the second map now. It was probably the shortest one made mostly of tunnels and prefabs.

I'm still an amateur. These maps won't have close to the detail of the ones from the mod, or even other people's campaigns. I just hope it will at least still be fun (and terrifying).

This will not be included in patch 1.3, but it should be finished and polished nicely for 1.4. Also, I might need some of the features in the second version of the upcoming SDK.

That's a bit dark so I cannot see much, but that looks very nice from what I can see :)
