A very large portion of America has shit internet (granted, no where near as bad as some countries).

Idk why you had to make two post talking about how insane Americans get over internet sucking. Most people I know get frustrated when shit they pay for stops working, but they don't flip the fuck out like you're describing (and yes, I do realize that you are using hyperbole in your posts). Maybe the Americans you know are hotheaded and irrational, but not the ones I know, so please don't say "us Americans" like that, you're using a very large brush to paint a picture normal people don't fit into.

I'll be honest, there's kind of a dumb reason as to why I made that double post.
Awhile back on this forum, in a thread in which people talked about their frustrations with their own country, and I made this post talking about how I actually am content with living in America, talking about "freedom of speech" and stuff like that.

I remember looking at that post a little while later, and I felt that I seemed like a bleeding heart patriot (not to say there's nothing wrong with loving your country, but I felt that I made it seem a little overboard).
I realized that my post might be insensitive to people who are struggling with their status as a citizen of their country, and I felt like I was fulfilling the stereotype of Americans being overdramatic people.

Since then, I've made a couple of posts in this thread talking about "us americans", both for comedic effect, and so as to not make it seem like I was trying to claim one country is "superior" to others, but instead, I ended up generalizing a bunch of people.

Sorry for anything insensitive; from now on, I'll keep the topic of countries out of this forum. This isn't even a political website, it's just a close-knit community for people to talk about the game industry, modding, Half-Life, and other stuff.

Now that my giant wall of text is over, carry on with the thread.
Are you surprised when sentences don't end as you potato?

I don't know too much about internet connection costs in other countries, but I do know that, culturally, us Americans go fucking nuts when our wifi bugs out, and temporarily shuts down.

Riots break out in the streets.
Members of Comcast are hung from streetlights like second-hand shoes.
A manchild collapses in the middle of the streets, cradling his broken internet router as if it was his firstborn child.
Pornography addicts begin a mad-dash search for any magazine, painting, sculpture, or stick figure on a cocktail napkin.

And the people who live out in the country, the ones who have lived with low bars and high PINGS their whole life, light their already-smoked-down cigarette butt, gaze over the spectacle of insanity, and weep.

But why the hell would you expect a rational reaction from the country with the most amount of gun murders and the most obesity?
You ain't see anything if you don't know the internet in indonesia
Money hungry ISP,Slow connection (I barely play online games because my ping is goddamn high, combined with crappy laptop spec)
Its really fucked up

So, Layers of Fear came out of early access recently.
I've been playing it quite a bit, and in fact, I'm a little over halfway through it (at least I believe I am).

It's really well written, the textures and level design are absolutely beautiful, and it's freaking terrifying.

If anyone has a quad core processor and a decent graphics card (I've got an i5-6500 and a Nvidia/Zotac GTX 950, so I can run it at near-max settings at a good framerate, if that helps anyone), then I absolutely recommend it.

On the other note, Prospekt came out.

And unfortunately as i expected, it wasn't a very good "mod".

I haven't played it yet due to lack of a credit card, but i heard that there was just too many problems for it to be a good game.

Not surprised too looking at some videos.

I mean how the hell do you screw up subtitles?

SUBTITLES!?

Not sure why they started it in the first place. Wouldn't developing the same game again be really boring?
Also heck yes I bought DS3 twice the day it got on Steam.

I am like 40% in Layers Of Fear and I love it. It's very well made.
I'm just so glad it's a horror game that focuses more on the atmosphere and story than just [SCARY JUMPSCARES]. We had enough of the jumpscare ones in the past few years, if you ask me.

So The Closure just got released.

Basically a fan-made Episode 3.

Been remodding The Closure, dude tried to do a fanmade EP3 and was roasted immensely due to the inconsistencies with many custom assets.

Planning to restore the ol'HL feel to most of them back, changing the music to HL's, that kind of stuff.

Also changing the textures that has the UAC logos on them.

Already got a quarter done.
