Well, personally what I don't like about the gun sounds is that in my opinion, compared to the old sounds, they sound very artificial and odd. Kind of like how before the Glock was just a loud "pop", and now it sounds more like a "Bang". That's just me though, still there are some sounds I do like better, like the Hunting Rifle one and the P345. Still, I know there just sounds and its not too big of a deal to begin with, but those are just my thoughts. Still am really excited to play the new stand alone

Most of these are recorded from real guns though, they've just played with a bit.

Fairly good example of why I feel my time is often wasted.

But Many people like me don't feel like you've wasted your time  :joebiden:

Without your programming alot of stuff wouldn't have been possible.  :stig:

Does the MP5 reward apply to those who maps are included in the stand-alone, or started before this announcement?

The new sounds seem more powerful, which is nice...

One thing I've been wondering: will we be able to remove the crosshairs as we could in the HL version? It's a huge plus for me as I have trouble playing ADS enabled games with crosshairs.

Thanks a lot.

Amazing work! The new gun sounds sound great in my opinion, and props to Kopter for the MP5! James, your work is f*cking amazing, your time is not wasted at all! RuMpel, your work is heavily appreciated by me as well! And to everyone else who worked on the game ( :stig: ) , GOOD JOB. Take all the time you need for the steam release, no need to rush it! Keep up the great work!  ;D
That wasn't very cash money of you.

Kopter, he looks like he has the mag ready in the air, he doesn't reach into his pockets to get it. Personally, as soon as he hits the mag release button his hand should immediately go for another clip.

I still await an answer, not to be an asshole but I'd like to know, as I started my campaign before the announcement.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter once it goes Stand Alone, since it can be applied in a patch or a hotfix.

Yes. This is exactly what I thought, I think the problem is that most people don't know what real guns sound like. They just go off what they hear in movies and video games which are designed to be more "satisfying". I like the new sounds and I don't think James should change them. Again - good job, James.

The shotgun and rifle sounds awesome but the reload sounds kinda sounds like something from an action movie.
You did a good job James, well done. And I can't wait for the MP5 :3

Meh. It depends. After about a few hundred feet the high pitches start decaying, and the guns start sounding more unique.

I like to think that we'll get used to the new sounds just like we warmed to the old ones, but that's hard to tell when I haven't done a run through the game with them yet. It'd just be easier for both parties if there was an option to switch back and forth between the new and old sounds; everyone's happy.
