It's always says "failed to contact game server" and well, it's pretty annoying. Any idea how can i fix it?
-
I'm also having this problem, have you tried joining a friend's server or anything like that? I don't have anyone to test it with yet.
-
yep, tried with 3 friends. Got the same message.
-
Have you made sure you have your ports in your router forwarded? Try Hamachi as well.
-
Which ports are forwarded? I'm at college right now so I can't do anything about it right now but when I go home for the weekend I'll try it.

Already forwarded 27015 and 27020.
BUT
Some random guy wrote his ip on the mods facebook page, i tried to connect on it, and its actually worked, so i dont know what is the problem.
Hamachi isnt working too.
-
When you connect to his server, type
"connect theipadress" in the console.
You can find your IP adress by going to: http://www.whatismyip.com/

Tried a million times. It worked only once ( with that random player who posted his ip on facebook ).

I was so excited about the stand alone version of COF so I could play with my friends, but the multiplayer isn't working for me. (I am probably just doing something wrong) I looked through the internet before coming here and didn't find much. (Just stuff about my problem addressed over a year ago which doesn't apply to the stand alone version) Anyway I would like to know how to host/setup a multiplayer server for COF. Please help!

Me and my friend were able to play the co-op fine through Hamachi before the stand alone release. However, it doesn't work anymore, and we're still using the same Hamachi server.
-
me and my friends can connect via command console with server address, but still not server listing appearing. Can someone actually see the server listing or is this just a problem a few people are having? :chainsaw:
-
Ok so, the Co-Op works, but when me and my friends go through the first door on Chapter 9, it crashes for him and says "Fail to connect" on mine, what should I do?
:stig:

No servers are showing up, is that a known problem or something?
I got it working using a program called Evolve (like Hamachi, but way cooler IMO). Thought I am also getting that issue on the first co-op mission where my friend will disconnect when we go to the next area.

So did at a point in time the server listing exist or is the only way to play coop is through ip or hamatchi, etc?

The server lists was working before, but for some reason they no longer work. It may be a Steam-side issue or the game's fault.

Hmm okay, I'm hoping this gets fixed b/c this was also a problem with cry of fear after the valve update. The only thing I noticed is that when one of my friend's host we can connect by ip, but if any other person hosts we can't. Probably a port forwarding thing in that case. Also I haven't tried out hamatchi for the stand alone, but I know it worked before for the mod. Still though I want to play multiplayer even when my friends aren't around so if they get this server listing thing fixed that would be great.
