Unable to launch stand-alone/play at all...

Hello, I'm currently having severe problems with launching Cry of Fear (the stand-alone release).

The game won't launch in my Steam library at all, nothing happens.
When I try the CoFLaunch app, I get the "CLR error 80004005, The program will now terminate."

I only get a black screen and an immediate crash by launching the app directly (cof)
It says "Half life launcher has stopped working."
I have tried everything in the book including typing "-gl" in the launch options and running as administrator.

I have had success in playing the mod before it was on Steam (albeit with dynamic lighting problems), but the HL update screwed everything over (and the mod is no longer up to date compared to the stand-alone)

I am running Windows 7 with an Intel processor through Parallels Desktop (mac "player" here)
I already have .NET 4.5 framework so I am unable to install .NET 4.0 (though I shouldn't have to, right?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Your .NET Framework was installed incorrectly, please go ahead and repair your .NET Framework using the Repair Tool from Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135 ).

Afterwards, when repairs are done - re-run Cry of Fear.

If that doesn't work, follow the instructions on how to remove previous .NET Frameworks (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2006/05/30/611355.aspx ) and re-install .NET Framwork 3.5 (includes 3.0 and 2.5).

OMG thank you SO much!!!!  Just had to uninstall 4.5 and replace it with 4.0, fixed everything, including the dynamic lighting!
