i want to make the map work but it wont compile right? and kinda wonky to work with cause theres no tutorial on how to get sdk working with cry of fear standalone

Could it be the long folder names?
In level editing, both for normal Half-Life or for Cry of Fear, I usually keep all my maps and tools under a single folder in a drive ("D:\VHE"), and any further folders have short names and no spaces.

Maybe that could help?

Anyway, tutorials for CoF mod pretty much also works for CoF standalone, just with alterations added, same thing too for numerous HL-based tutorials that are also useful for CoF mapping as well.

i tried running it and it said manhun.wad missing?  and i think the only other problem is the compiling?

Hmm, I believe manhunt.wad is already included in the cryoffear installation folder, is it not?
If it's not, put the wads in the cryoffear mod folder, perhaps that would make it work.
Last resort would be to use -nowadtextures in the advanced compiling settings.

Also, you have a LEAK in your map, if the map is in fullbright despite you already placing a light entity in there, it might be the reason why.

Have you also seen RTSL's Level Design Academy?
It mainly goes around Half-Life mapping, but it works for Cry of Fear as well.

i have the manhunt file in there. but whats a leak? like my map isnt complete yet like the player could fall out the make and stuff?

Yeah, a leak means that your map is exposed to the 'void' so to speak. The vis file it generated should point you to the leak in the map :)
