Original mod help request.

So I've downloaded the original mod for the Half-Life game. I already own Half-Life 1 Gold Source on Steam. I'm having issues accessing the main menu. It goes to the first load screen (the 2D menu) but I can't do anything beyond that. Can anyone help?

The mod version of the game is not supported anymore.

Use the Steam version of Cry of Fear - it's free to download on Steam.

The original non-steam version is plagued by all the bugs that came into play when Valves updates broke a lot of mods way back when. It was one of the main reasons why the game was added to steam in the first place. The original non-steam version is practically unplayable at this point.
