Doctor Battle - Iffy Hit Detection

So as the title suggests the hit detection in the battle with the doctor is awful. I played through all of the game with Simon's book and the doctor battle was the only time I used a gun so I know it's at fault. I fired 8 shots all of which were hits, and the game decided that 7 of my 8 shots missed. I've tested it several times and it seems the same, it appears to be pretty much pot luck as to whether the hits actually register properly or not. Obviously I know we're at the stage now where it won't be fixed but if anyone knows how you can play the doctor battle without the game screwing up the hit detection it would be appreciated. I created a recording in the hope someone might be able to figure out why the hit detection is so glitched

In case you're unaware, I regret to inform you that all the shots you had hit were registered, mister. If you look at the top of the screen where it says "Doctor", every time you fire, his health goes down by a small chunk. The cut scene where he falls down, defeated, is once his health bar is fully depleted.

Oh, sorry, my bad. I just re-watched the footage and I now understand what you were saying. Sorry if I appeared rude. That is an odd bug that I don't believe I've encountered.

My apologies if it seems obvious, but I'm not quite sure how the hit detection is glitched from the video as I saw all the hits being registered.
I don't claim to completely know how the whole system works, but I do know that the most consistent way to hit Purnell is when he's standing still and firing back.
The map has his hitboxes covered as well, shown here. If he's standing still, and you're shooting one of these boxes, that's a confirmed hit.

What he was saying is that if you look at the end of the video where it shows his stats, the results suggest that only the killing blow was registered as a confirmed hit whilst all the other shots were misses, as in the end card it says 8 shots fired, 7 missed, 1 hit. It confused me at first as well. c:

Huh, I suppose I was mistaken. I'm sorry, the way the OP worded the whole thing and the video's focus on the credits instead of the final stats after killing the Doc was what confused me.

Still though, that is a peculiar issue, would've been a drag since ranks are determined by those hits and misses.
