Shovel disappeared

It's not game breaking, but I dropped the shovel to pick up a sniper rifle and it disappeared. Unfortunately, I saved the game after it disappeared. There are 3 dirt mounds on the preston side of wespet park that I'm not able to dig up, but I was wondering if there is any way to get another shovel to access the dirt mounds.

I don't think there's any way to access the buried items once the shovel drops through the map I'm afraid. The only critical item that you need to dig up is the key right before heading up to the roof and meeting Sophie. As long as you have that you're only missing out on some health and ammo.
