LOL I TAKE DRUKQS AND KIRVES ARE HIGHLY UPSET

This is a somewhat tight-knit community with our own culture, get over it.  :barry:

But yeah I still need to play Dead Space, doesn't run that great on my laptop, but the small part I've played was boring as hell.

Dead space was alright, though it got a bit repetitive. Dead Space 2 was better imo, same general thing, just more diverse.

Dead Space was the first horror game I played. Looking back on it now, it doesn't seem so bad. But in DS1, I was often low on ammo, which added to the scares. I was always wondering "What if there's a giant swarm of necromorphs around the corner? I only have 14 ammo things for my Cutter."

Yet in DS2, I was always doing fine for ammo. The both of them are pretty gory, though.

Dead Space 1 was pretty much-

Repetetive combat
Too much time between interesting points
Unstoppable back-tracking

Dead Space 2 however

Interesting combat
Very little backtracking
Very interesting
Story was more intense

You're so silly, I knew you didn't go to bed because you've been on the forums.
And you blocked me or exited Steam but I still love you though even though you lied to my face.
Our relationship isn't over yet, I still love you

Involving a member who signed up a day prior to myself and Kirves, and that culture being sociopathy? Okay.

I'm going to go indulge in something sane now...

On topic:

Splatterhouse is great but the artificial difficulty can get ridiculous. The remake is shit, etc. same shit everyone else is saying.

I have to disagree with the general opinion here about DS1 and 2. I liked them both equally. I remember before I built my current PC I was too outdated on hardware to play DS1 and was still living with my family as underage B& so I couldn't play DS1 on PC. I ended up caving and buying it for PS3 only to shrink wrap it and return it (HUEHUE) so I can play the PC version at an undetermined time later.

It was worth it.

I stopped playing DS1 because it got too boring for me, a shame.

I beat DS2 once and that was enough for me. It was not worth playing the game on nightmare to get a foam glove

Actually, maybe i should start playing them again since i have a better computer now

I should have been more descriptive. What didn't you like about DS1? You didn't like the slower (than DS2) pacing?

Now that I'm in this thread I need to inform everyone that they need to play Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason. It's the slowest paced horror game you'll ever play and it isn't optimized well but it's one of the best experiences I've ever had. It uses the same reloading system as CoF and your ammo indicator on the HUD is actually a cutaway of the clip/magazine (Note: Not an interchangeable term; I used both because the game contains both).

It uses PhysX beautifully and one of the weapons is even based around it. You take the icicles that are hanging around the environments and use them in your water cannon which reacts very realistically but looks like it's spraying water like a bottle of Windex if PhysX is turned off.

Well, DS1 felt like it lacked energy thus it was dull.

To be frank, I don't like backtracking in games, and the enemies lacked variety after a few necromancers

Dead Space 1 was great, the pacing, the atmosphere and the design was spot on... textures were a little repetitive but that didn't really bother me.

Dead Space 2 had too much combat in it, the enemies kept appearing in massive waves constantly killing a lot of the scare factor. The environments were much much more varied and beautiful than the first game.

They're both pretty good games but I wish American horror would stop relying on jump scares excessively, it gets really old.
