Strange error

I just got this today. I've never seen it before. As I launch the game I get this error.

could not load library c:\program files\steam\steamapps\theevina\half-life\cryoffear\cl_dlls\client.dll
And I checked by CoF installation and the client.dll file exists there.

Re-install the game or the patch.

Patch didn't work, just as I thought. There's no way the dll could have changed itself. I had to re-install Half-Life, but I left the CoF directory untouched so I don't know how it could be broken.

In that case, re-install Cry of Fear v1.0. Works for me after this shit happens all the time.

The problem is that you're missing the .dlls in the half-life folder. Make sure you have them:


devil.dll

opengl32.dll

cggl.dll

cg.dll

id3lib.dll

ikpFlac.dll

ikpMP3.dll

irrKlang.dll

If not, reinstall Cof entirely, and make sure no virusprogram is deleting them or whatever.

Ah, when I had to reinstall half-life I must have deleted those as well.
