No Soundtrack or Gun sounds in-Game HELP!

I'm enjoying this game A LOT! I love it! But The only thing is... The soundtrack and Gun sounds aren't working.. SO when I play I try to Add Cry of fear music From my Libary music.. To make the experince Intense. I tried launching from CoFLaunchApp.exe But it doesn't work still. I tried Caching the Game via steam. I tried Playing the game running as adminstrator.
I tried everything I can find on the internet and Nothing works..
Please Help!

Please post your system specifications.

If you have 4GB of RAM or more, I'd like you to patch Cry of Fear .exe to the 64-bit patch to reduce some issues that might pop up. Please follow the link here and following the directions: http://www.moddb.com/games/cry-of-fear/downloads/cry-of-fear-crash-patch-for-64-bit-users

Also, please make sure all drivers on your system are up to date (ex. motherboard, audio, etc....)

The same thing is happening with me. Tried the exact same tactics, downloaded the patch, and still no luck. Ain't that a bitch?

A player said that apparently eliminating Steam's Game Overlay helps.

Have you tried that yet?

I know how I fixed it. I simply went into Program files (x86) Then into steam, Steam apps, common. Then clicked on CryofFear Then Right-clicked CofLaunchAPP And went into properties and compatibility  and Unchecked run program compatibility for......  And you do the same to cof.exe Hope that helps ATP2555

Running this game in compatibility mode does this, running gamebooster can also have negative effects like this, remove Cry Of Fear from your gamebooster library and then start it up, or try closing gamebooster altogether.
