Gun sounds/flashlight Issues
« on: 30 August, 2015, 06:31:58 AM »
To start, I have looked at multiple threads on this forum discussing the above mentioned issues. The computer that I use to run the game does use an AMD processor, if this means anything. My problem is that using the multiple methods to fix the flashlight issues or lack of gun sounds, such as running the game from the launcher in the steam common folder, does nothing. Running the game in windows xp compatibility mode fixes the flashlights/three hands glitches, but messes up gun sounds and music. If I run the game as is, gun sounds and music play, but I get three hands, glitched gun models, and non-functioning flashlights. I also tried the x64 bit crash patch, but to no avail. Is there a way I can play CoF without having to choose between having a non-messed up first person model or gun audio? Thanks for any responses.

This problem is really a bitch, I haven't been able to identify a solution for it. The problem it that is randomly stopped.

Just to recap some solutions though:
1. DO NOT USE GAMEBOOSTER
2. Run in compatibility mode for XP (Service Pack 3 if available)
3. Run as administrator (Launcher)
4. Run without Steam Overlay

Some AMD drivers can't run the custom renderer, so there's no luck to that unless you want to uninstall your drivers to play.

You should've stopped when you lost the advantage.

Running in compatability mode is EXACTLY what caused the issues I used to have.

Yeah, I assumed OP would have said something if he already tried compatibility mode. No harm in trying, works for some people.
