friend of mine had his youtube account banned.
« on: 25 September, 2015, 02:42:13 AM »
As the title says a friend of mine has his youtube account banned simply by putting the first part of a cry of fear playthrough video on it. It litterally makes no sense at all since there are way too many videos of cry of fear (whatever version you like even standalone) on youtube, with channels that aren't banned for it yet it shows the exact same content. Someone enlighten me???

I wouldn't know as to why that his YouTube account was banned.

Did he have any copyrighted music playing in most of his uploaded videos that might've lead to the account ban when he uploaded his CoF video? There's nothing we can do about that, other than looking at what could've happened since uploading Cry of Fear videos are completely fine.

That's what I thought, the only thing I can think of was a little description about the development that he took from wikipedia. Might that be the reason other then maybe the music playing on the titlescreen or the first cut-scene? Need some confirmation on this to pass on to him so he can safely upload his playthrough on his new account.

A little late in the coming this reply, but uploading videos of Cry of Fear will not get your youtube account banned. When I uploaded my videos showing the walkthrough the only message I got was the standard that it contained 3rd party material and that you need to confirm that this is the case.

There must've been something else that caused his account to get banned, either a different video or something he added to the video outside of the game content. It could also be that somebody you both know trolled him by flagging the video, I'm not 100 percent sure how that process works x)
