Cry of Fear Freezes while starting a new game

I have a big problem, i can't play the mod.

When on the menu i put a new game, put the difficulty, then when the screen zooms white, then the 2d menu foto of Simon appears, and then it freezes (loading screen doesn't appear?).

Please i've been waiting too long for this mod and then this happens to me (and many other people maybe).

Do you own Half-Life? I tried installing the game into a cracked Steam client (so I could use another account, because I was afraid of a VAC ban not because I don't own Half-Life) and had the same problem, but I decided to just not play any multiplayer while the mod was installed and installed it to my original Steam and it worked.

Yes i do own Half-Life (Pacsteam), installed it in the common folder. But i might try your method...

Pacsteam? Also, what do you mean by the "common" folder. Please post here the install path to Cry of Fear.

The path automatically searched like this (cracked Steam):

c:\pacsteamt\steamapps\guido100012\half-life
