We have not "given up". We are finished with the game, a long time ago. We have moved on and are not supporting the game anymore.

Cry of Fear Customisation / Re: New custom map gameplay

It's hard to map for CoF.

Just keep it up, and make sure you balance the gameplay well so you don't have too many weapons and ammo, otherwise it's not really survival horror.

When can we expect a release?

People still play CoF. I see new LP videos every day constantly coming on Youtube. This includes Custom Campaigns.

The forums is obviously not as big as it used to be, but that doesn't stop people from playing. I still support all people who make Custom Campaigns, and I will post news about it here, ModdB and Facebook if they get released.

Just keep up the work.

General Discussion / Re: THE HELL a.k.a Regret Thread
« on: 28 May, 2014, 04:34:41 AM »
I've done a lot of bad shit, I don't even want to bring it up. All of it was when I was a kid though.

One minor thing I regret was dumping down fireworks inside the hole in the door where you dump letters (in apartments). I wonder what the hell happened in there. I must've been like 10 years old.

Pardon for the bump, don't really want to put in the Chat thread due to it being not relevant.

Decided to make Nostalgia 2 similar to the first one, a bunch of random maps based on old games or movie stuff i watched.

Looks cool! :barry:

Ugh. Think twice before you create a thread so people can take you seriously.

Yes, you can make as many custom campaigns as you want. Thread locked.

I'm afraid we won't be able to support you anymore. We have pretty much stopped working on CoF. What I mean is that we're not making any more content for it. We will still support you with any of your questions.

Cry of Fear Mod Discussion / Re: Cry of Fear Book

well ... to release a real book based on Cry of Fear is not legal i understand but some non-profit stories or fan-fics on the forums.. why not ? .. maybe some modders could take them as a source of inspiration for future custom campaigns..

I never said anything about not writing fan fics. You're allowed to write whatever you want, as long as it's not a Cry of Fear book.

I have to complement ruMpel of putting this pictures and adresses out there so people can visit them. I just arrived home today after a month living in Stockholm. During the first week of my capital, I Googled like a maniac trying to find some IRL-places from the mod. Me and my buddy was determined to find some places from the game/mod, especially the the apartment building. I had no luck with my Google searches, so I contacted ruMpel here on the forums and he was very kind giving me the adresses and pictures of the locations in a personal message. Me and my friend went to some of the places and it actually felt really cool and amazing in some ways. The way the developers has recreated real life locations this good is breathtaking. Well, if you live in Sweden or will go here someday, you should really check some of the places out!
Thanks again for the locations ruMpel!
Here is some of the pictures I took if someone is interested!

Nice! Glad you checked it out! What more places did you go to? :)

Two spots above this thread is a stickied thread about CoF and VAC.

Cry of Fear has never, and will never cause a VAC ban.

That's true for the Vanilla CoF that we have shipped. But the third party stuff that was added to it by our community, such as the 64 bit patch, is not guaranteed VAC safety. So it's on your own risk, and is not under our responsibillity.

A proper report of playing online with that patch is appriciated though, as I don't like hearing rumours. They tend to spread bad propaganda.

I recall looking at the image of the lake when it was uploaded on ModDB, thinking "hey, that would be a nice location to put in the game"...
Dropped my jaw for a second or two when I realized it WAS in-game. ;D

Haha nice.
