Once your launch program is up, simply click "CHECK FOR UPDATES", and it will download it and install it for you automatically.

Cry of Fear SDK

Another thing we're doing today is releasing the tools for creating your own maps for Cry of Fear. This includes fgd files, information on programs to use, wad textures and more. If you have any questions, head over to the forums and make a topic with your question there. We also plan to include more support for mappers, and I'm currently thinking of implementing a system for people releasing their custom campaigns to be able to load them from the main menu.
Cry of Fear - SDK is on the way!

Cry of Fear Official Soundtrack

Since we've had a lot of requests about this, we've finally released the official Cry of Fear Soundtrack! It contains 50 songs of emotional and horrifying music, along with many other secret unused songs that we planned to have in the game. The songs are mastered and mixed to suit best as music rather than in-game music for a game.
You can find the album here:
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/andreasronnberg
The album will be available on iTunes in a couple of weeks, as it's currently being authorised by them.
We hope you will like this album! Since a lot of effort has been put into it.

Conclusion

We hope that you will enjoy this patch and the soundtrack of course! And if you want to get more news and stuff, why not like us on Facebook? We usually post about Cry of Fear every day! So head to us here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cry-of-Fear-mod/111800915551808
And while you're at it, why not check out our awesome clothes? http://teampsykskallar.spreadshirt.se/
Anyways, see you out there, and hopefully you will cry of fear.
Minuit out.

Cry of Fear Customisation / Official CoF mapper request thread
« on: 18 March, 2012, 09:08:48 PM »
Hi guys. As there seems to be a lot of interest from you guys in making your own custom content for CoF, I thought I'd make a thread where you can add requests for features or entities to be added for your own custom maps/campaigns. For example, I saw Aresaka's video and saw that he needed a way to spawn the player in his map with his own custom sleeves texture.

I'm thinking of trying to get builds for mappers on a semi-regular basis with things you want or need added, but it will have to take second priority as full patches for everyone are more important.

Thanks.

« on: 18 December, 2011, 01:48:25 PM »
Well, what can we say? The response to the FB "like" campaign we posted just over 6 weeks ago has been absolutely astonishing to say the least. The amount of cooperation and support shown by the community has been absolutely mindblowing, so from myself and the rest of the Cry of Fear team we'd like to say thank you. Not only have we kept our promise to reveal the release date after we reached the 5000 likes, but we'd also like to tell you that we've made, and finished, an entire extra campaign to thank you guys. You can actually see a tiny, tiny snippet of it hidden in the trailer we released just recently.

So, thank you all! Special thanks go to Pewdiepie and Spike and Barley for rallying their fans to our cause. Check out their Youtube channels and support them!

So, all that's left to say is thanks and:

That's right! Happy halloween everyone! Now this period of the year is the best time for a horror developer (at least for us). This is why we're trying to make this event a bit special, with a couple of announcements.

Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut
First of all, it's the 4th year anniversary of the Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut release. We're very proud of the mod, and we recommend you all to try it out during Halloween, and also while you're waiting on Cry of Fear. A trailer of Afraid of Monsters: DC is displayed below. Please visit the mod here:http://www.moddb.com/mods/afraid-of-monsters-dc

Progress
The Cry of Fear progress is going awesome, and we've made so much the last month. Last week, I made another update that was 647 mb big and contained 814 files and 112 folders, and that update only took 2 weeks. This shows how great the progress is going!

Another cool thing is that the Single Player campaign is almost entirely finished. All the endings and all the unlockables are all finished. And now we're talking about 30 unique unlockables such as clothes, weapons, game modes (like Hunk in Resident Evil), developer commentaries, items and etc. This demonstrates how far we've come with modding since Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut, which only had 1 unlockable (which we thought was damn awesome).

The coming months we will try and focus on the new game mode that I mentioned, and also co-op. And of course fixing bugs. This will hopefully go pretty quick, as co-op is almost finished as well.
" width="573" height="300

Unlocks for the community
We've also come up with the idea to have the community unlock certain things by liking our Facebook page. This was a great success when you, the awesome community, unlocked the Gameplay video. The result of it was that we started seeing new faces appear, which is the whole point of making a game - to entertain people. Therefor, we have made this little list here where you can unlock screenshots, videos and also the official Cry of Fear release date. Simply all you have to do is enter our Facebook page and like it. We want you to spread Cry of Fear around, so we can hopefully give the whole world an evil heart attack by scaring them to death with this mod.

Everytime you unlock something, we will post a news about the thing you people have unlocked. To like our Facebook page, go to the link, or click the image below. Good luck!

News / Thank you community!
« on: 05 August, 2011, 09:50:18 PM »

So a while back, we promised to post an unedited 5 minute video of gameplay from the mod if we reached 1000 "likes" on Facebook. The response from the community was truly astonishing. Last night, at approximately 00:00 GMT, our 1000th member "liked" us. In return, we made the video we promised. But made it even longer.

We were so pleased with the effort you guys put into getting the word out, that we decided to make the video even longer - approximately 7 minutes. Before I post the video, I'll make some clarifications:
  • There are bugs in the video, such as the black bars going over the subtitles. This has been fixed.
  • The reason Simon has 3 slots is because he doesn't have his bag. Normally, you can carry 6 items.
  • The video has spoilers, so don't watch it if you don't want that section of the game spoiled.

So without further ado, here's the video:

" width="500" height="301
Hello everyone. Once more, I welcome you to another ghoulish Cry of Fear update. Being that today is Halloween, we thought it would be apt to bring you all up to speed with what's going on with Cry of Fear. Some of you have been speculating on a release on Halloween, just like we did with
" width="500" height="29

Sadly, this is not the case. The mod is not yet ready for release, but pretty damn close. I know we've been repeating this phrase a lot, but progress is really, really good on the mod. We've been making some great advancements recently, and I'm pleased to say the mapping is almost totally finished. That just leaves bug fixes, beta testing and general patching to do. So, what can you do in the meantime? Well, we suggest that you grab a pair of headphones, turn out the lights and download a copy of Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut, developed by both ruMpel and myself. It should give you a big enough dose of horror to tide you over until the release of the mod. Speaking of horror...

" width="500" height="53
Some of you may have heard of Muddasheep. He's a pretty big deal in the Half-Life community. He's the twisted mind behind the Half-Quake games, and he's now teamed up with the Cry of Fear team to bring you even more fucked-up sick horror. He's contributing some great musical tracks, twisted ideas and helping to beta test. We can't reveal too much, but his musical soundtracks add a unique and beautiful atmosphere to the dark and bleak visuals. We'll publish more information on the soundtrack in the near future. In the meantime, if you don't fancy giving Afraid of Monsters a try, why not play Half-Quake Sunrise?

" width="500" height="53
To wrap things up, I'll leave you with an image. I hope it speaks for itself, because as they, a picture is worth a thousand words. With that said, I'll wrap up this newspost for now. Until next time!
